Why the Short List?

The vitality of America as a progressive nation depends immensely on the vitality of the Democratic Party, and the vitality of the Democratic Party depends immensely on its leaders expressing the party's principles clearly, concisely, and repeatedly.

The politics of progressivism is not inherently simple - it inherently demands effort and thoughtfulness. So will any clear, concise Democratic message. We believe people in the grassroots can help by making the effort to state succinctly what they believe are the party's fundamental principles.

The Basics

It's a sure bet that no one of us will come up with a Short List that every one of us agrees perfectly encapsulates the Democratic Party's fundamental principles. But the very exercise of trying to craft such a list is a worthwhile endeavor for anyone who cares about the clarity of the Democratic message.
